What If I Don't Make It by Mike Mac

Sometimes before I go to bed, I think what if I don't make it?

I think this for many reasons under many different circumstances. Am I scared to go to sleep and never wake up? Not really but I just want to make sure that if I don't make it that I will be remembered in a good way for doing good things. I hate going to bed thinking that somebody doesn't like me or that I have upset somebody. I really do care for the well-being of all my friends and my peers and I really do care for the betterment of our society.

I think about making sure that for the years that I did walk this earth, I did make a difference that can be carried on when I don't walk this earth. Maybe this is too much of a burden to live by but its something that I definitely think about on a daily basis. Sometimes I wonder if the world did think about how we all can't live forever then maybe we would all make more of a difference on a daily basis. Don't get me wrong, when I say making a change in the world, I don't mean something huge. Sometimes if we do the little things they can be life changing, but have all heard that before right? But how about we start thinking more if we didn't make it, would that change our perspective on each and everyday? Would it help cherish each moment we have we the people on earth? I dunno, but its definitely something to think about.

So in conclusion, if i dont make it, I hope that you read this and know that my goal was to help people and change people's lives. I wish that one day we can all have perspective and see the world through everybody's eyes to understand how different we all are, but how truly beautiful each and everybody's life is.

If I don't make it, I love you.

God Bless,
Mike Mac

Minutes With Mike Mac #2

Today was a great day. I was in the studio from 2pm to 2:45am straight. Doing work!
I am very happy with not only the project I worked on today but how I am really coming into my own in terms of music production. I really really feel I am having a certain sound which is very important in this business. I also really appreciate the fact that I can produce all types of music. And by production I mean literally produce, not make beats. I record (engineer), mix, and produce. I do it all baby and I do it well.

There is always room for improvement and believe you me, I have a lot to learn still but who says you shouldn't pat yourself on the back from time to time.

I am tired, I need to sleep. Good night all!

Minutes With Mike Mac #1

So I decided to start blogging more on life and music. It will be short but something that I want to do. I can't say that its going to be more music or more on life but I just know that I will try my best to post something everyday between Mondays and Fridays.

So first things first. I have recently met with several music industry professionals ranging from Billboard Top 100 producers to Chief A & R's at big record labels. I am very very happy and excited with what is to come in the near future. With that being said, I know that I will have to continue to work hard if not harder in order to make it in this crazy business. I say crazy because it literally can make you go crazy if you don't believe in yourself and make your own decisions. As I have grown older in this business I have seen careers take off just based on their own personal hustle and their will to be famous and establish themselves with a name. I respect everybody's hustle and most important the belief they have in themselves. It is really really important to look at these people, whether you like their talents or not, to understand that working as hard as they do to reach their goal isn't easy. Also understand that you must be humble and know that there is always somebody out there trying to do the same thing you are but in a different way, and that makes us all unique.Enough on that. Onto my thoughts on music.

I am very impressed with some projects that I have heard recently and yet disappointed on the larger spectrum of the industry. It seems that outside a few acts, 2010 hasn't really brought us a star yet, being that KESHA came out late 2009. I know its early but hey I'm just excited to see who will come out large in 2010. In terms of sound, I really think music is still heavy on electro/dance and will continue to be throughout the year. Props to Dr. Luke in establishing himself as the man in 2010 when it comes to production. I can't tell you how many people have said how much they appreciate his craft.

Ok, I promised it would be short and I guess I kinda lied. But until tomorrow, I hope all is well.

God bless,
Mike Mac
